The Wynyard Walk Canopy in the Sydney CBD is an innovative state transport project delivered by ob体育游戏.

This innovative exposed steel canopy forms the entrance to the Wynyard Walk tunnel. The creative geometric shape was developed in close collaboration between the architect and ob体育游戏’s fabrication team.

The canopy is comprised of an exposed structural steel and glass hood with a perimeter ring beam made from fabricated boxed plates which were curved in two directions. This structure was enabled through the fabrication of a bespoke secondary structure. The team at ob体育游戏 a structurally sound project that was true to the architecture’s original vision.

Throughout the entire process, the canopy was tested through FEA modeling to ensure the best performance and efficiency.

In August 2018, Wynyard Walk was awarded the Engineering Excellence Award by Engineers Australia in the Infrastructure category.
